Post 9 - Final Reflection

1- Look back to your earliest posts. What were your goals? Did you achieve these goals? If so, what did you have to do consistently to achieve the goals?
First my internship was in International High School at Lafayette. My goals was to be responsible, communicate fluently in English and manage my time. I want to gain the knowledge of computer technology and office work. The skills I wanted to learn are the time management skills, interpersonal communication skills and helping skills. I was working here at International High School as a replacement to my internship. I  was work mostly in office and help teacher manage their classes. Then I got my internship and at interfaith medical center.

2- What are the most important ideas or skills you’ve learned in the last 12 weeks?

I learned the nursing skills such as communicating with patients, organizing files and making phone calls.

3- In what ways have your grown as a student and young adult?

I know how significant dependability is and we should stand up for ourselves and recognized our self who we are.

4- What were the highlights (memorable moments) of your internship experience?

  The whole internship.

. 5- What have you learned about the professional world?

People admire each other, but not everyone is nice, you should do a lot of things yourself, you have to gain knowledge of how to be perfect and how to keep your job.

6- What challenges did you overcome?
I was too shy to talk to patients at first, but later I understand I don’t have any other option so I start talking strangers patients.

7- If you were to start internship next week, what is at least one thing you would do differently?

I am going to do that thing that didn't learn from internship.

8- Think of two to three pieces of advice you could offer a new intern at your site?

Respect the patients, follow the rules and punctual.

9-What will you miss about your internship?

I am missing whole internship and especially my mentor's and co-worker.

Post 2 - Starting off Strong - Making your own lyrics -

If what I am is what's in me
Then I'll stay strong - that's who I'll be
and I will always be the best
"me" that I can be.

There's only one me, I am it
have a dream I'll follow it
It's up to me to try.
Chorus 1
Oh! I'm a keep my head up high
Keep on reaching high
Never gonna quit
I'll be getting stronger.

And nothing's gonna bring me down (no!)
Never gonna stop, gotta go.
Because I know
I'll keep getting stronger.
 Bridge 1
And what I am is thoughtful
what I am is Perfect
what I am is smart
and what I am is kind full
what I am is helpful
what I am is special
There's nothing I can't achieve.
Because in myself I believe in oh...

Post 8 Thank You Letter

4/13/2011
Dear Soraya and Joneil,
First of all I would like to thank you for being my mentors and helping me. I learned a lot of things from you that are very meaningful to me. When I first came to interfaith medical center. I was little confused because I wasn’t sure about that type of internship. But when I started I felt good and day-by-day I felt comfortable to work with you. I learned a lot of things, which are how to talk to patients on the phone and how to register people for appointment. I also learned other things like how to move very important patients files and record data for old files. Thank you very much for teaching me a lot these things. I love to work with you again one day.
Thank you!
Sincerely,

Mohammad Hassam Qureshi

Post 7 Photo Essay

When I used to enter my internship site. The first thing I used to do was to make appointments for the patients.Making appointments were sort of hard for me because I had never done this before and it was a great experience for me.

I also attended the phone calls from the patients who wanted to attend the workshops, and or re-schedule or conform their appointments.

This is my mentor .She helped me a lot with whatever I had to do every individual day

The hardest part of my internship was to make all the old patients files in order and place them in one single file.It took the most time because I had  to record every patients name, date of birth, and year last seen at the hospital.

This was the last day I went to my internship and there was a surprise party. They gave us all bags, and much more things. But the most important thing they gave us was a certificate.

Post 4 - Artifacts

The 1st artifact that I choose is about the Introduction of my Internship site.
My internship site is Women's health program of interfaith medical center. I choose this artifact because its introduces our site, contact info, directions and all about our clinics. I choose this because its help people who don't know about our site and medical center.
The 2nd artifact that I choose is about "Women's heart to heart program".
That is the workshop for women's. I choose this because its tells women's about the effects of smoking on their hearts, maintaining heart health diet and the risk factors of the heart disease. This workshop is 4 weeks workshop.
The 3rd artifact that I choose is about "Tai Chi". It's a 8 week workshop.Thi Chi give you a peaceful feeling build strength, increase your body flexibility and most importantly its help to reduce pain and constriction in your joints. This workshop is only for women.
